jacquard / floor loom
human eyes can only focus one thing at a time. placed in a permanently renewing surrounding the eye is visually attracted by the most catchiest.
what happens when you take time and let the focus drift?
are there any details which you did not noticed before? take a step back – or come closer.
when do the clear start to blurr?
in this series hand-tied and handwoven pieces inspired of the ikat technique are juxtaposed with jacquard weaves, that have been designed for – and woven with – a computer-controlled loom. both categories of fabric share a common aesthetic and similar grid patterns – but not its technical design.
